What are we thinking….

8Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.- Philippians 4:8

In a time where people in the church are looking for a revival. Sometimes I wonder what kind of revival they want. Do they even know what the church is suppose to look like? Do they have any Idea what purity or personal holiness is?

I think not. Go look at some of the social web sites like FaceBook or MySpace and look at what professing Christians like in their media. In the movie media we have “The Notebook” which glorifies sex out of wedlock.  This a favorite you see listed alot. Do I need to go on?

9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor £homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.  – 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Here is a quote from Kurt Gebhards in a book produced by Grace Community Church elders called “Right Thinking In A World Gone Wrong” from a chapter called “Parental Guidance”

Kurt writes “In the media, however, these same sins are usually glorified and upheld as fun, satisfying and fullfilling . The negative consequences of sin are rarely depicted. …. Repeated indulgence in media has a way of dulling the senses. If we are not vigilant, our thinking can become jaded, and lines of morality blurred.”

This is evident becuase we have recently raised up a woman without modesty and put her on a pedastal because of her stance on gay marriage in a beauty pageant. Christian women would not have such a swim suit years ago.

This Hula commercial is all too true.

Check this video out.

A revival will not happen until we get the Gospel right and start working on our own personal holiness. ME INCLUDED.

Pastoral leaders need to step up and set the example and be bold in their leadership.
