Are You Judging My Judging?

I am really getting tired of having to go over this time after time in comments. So I am doing this post just so I can point people to it when they start doing what they accuse me of doing.  JUDGING.

It just boggles my mind that people lock in a certain Bible verses and forget there is more to the Bible than those few verses. Here are a couple of verses that people read. It appears that they never get beyond them. I think the reason is that they have trouble with a sin(s) and really don’t want help dealing with it and throw these verses up as a shield.

God has condescended to become an author, and yet people will not read his writings. There are very few that ever gave this Book of God, the grand charter of salvation, one fair reading through. ~ George Whitefield

1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5

Well, well is seems pretty clear. To a true Bible student it does, but most just get it wrong. They forget that there is a whole Bible.

So I guess if we read those verses at their face value we need to get rid of these verse in the Bible, go ahead and rip them out of your Bible. Or your Bible may not have them.

Matthew 7:16:
16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?

Matthew 18:
15 “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. 16 But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

2 Timothy 3:16:

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Titus 1:

5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you, 6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion. 7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, 8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, 9holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain. 12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not paying attention to Jewish myths andcommandments of men who turn away from the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient andworthless for any good deed.

I don’t know about you but to follow those verses it take a certain amount of JUDGING.

Do I need to say more?

Well I guess I do because I know it will pop up in a comment “Hey RIB It says go to them in private you are not.” Yes you are right right. Mr. Pitt is a public figure and is out there committing error publicly.
Now if it was my pastor or a brother or sister from my church I would go to them in private first.
